Gladstone Gladiators - Final HOCO 2022

Gladstone High School will become a middle school next year.  Best wishes to all students and teachers in the upcoming years of big changes.  This is a school where I dedicated eight years of my teaching career.  At GHS, I met some of the best people, it is where I grew a lot as a teacher.  I was super fortunate to get to see Mrs. Gomez and Mrs. Bullock - two of my favorites.  (From 10/21/2022)

Good Afternoon Bearcats!

Thank you Tony for the very kind words last week. I have truly appreciated and enjoyed the time talking football, life, and nonsense with you over my time here at Bonita High School.

I agree with Tony, there are so many people at this school that make work worthwhile! However, for this week it is my honor and absolute pleasure to pass the Pawsitivity Award to Laura Ruiz! Laura continuously goes above and beyond for her students and I have seen such a growth in the writing abilities of every student she works with. Not only is she a great English teacher for our SAI students but she is a positive influence here at Bonita! At any point of the day you could run into Laura and her positive outlook on life and personality can turn your day around! Thank you Laura for always making the day of others around you. We truly are thankful to have you here!

Back to Trail Half Marathon Racing

It was a beautiful running morning with temperatures in the 60s and a gentle overcast in La Canada.  I felt very good about my effort and pacing for this challenging trail.  Race bib number 360 brings it full circle.  (From 10/16/2022)

Pawsitivity Award #30

Good Morning Bearcats!

First I want to thank Mitchell Pike for the kind words last week, I was humbled.  There are so many of you on campus that make this a great place to work, from all the coaches I have worked with as well as my APEX teammates, this is a really easy place to be positive.  This is the first and only job I have had that I look forward to coming to work… most of the time.

 

This week it is my honor to pass the Pawsitivity Award to a guy that is always positive and does so much for our campus, JT McLuckey.  I am lucky enough to have many positive teachers near me but this guy is always positive. I enjoy our morning conversations about football, baseball and life.  BHS could not have found a better guy to take over the Freshmen Football program.  It is one job to coach, it is another to take the time to hold football players responsible for their behavior in class and he does that with his behavior form.  I could go on and on about his compassion for his students and BHS but I do not want to turn this into a biography.  JT’s name definitely belongs on this plaque as one of the many teachers that brings a positive vibe to this campus.

Bonita Fall Play Announcement 2022

From Mr. Frederick:

The Bonita High School Theatre Department has been hard at work, and training, to bring you The Wolves.  A dramatic comedy, The Wolves takes a look into the lives of nine soccer players as they struggle to work together as a team.  If you plan on bringing young children, please note that this play has mature content and is suggested as 14+.

In order to best preserve the intimate environment for this show, we have shaped the BCA into a black-boxed theatre, where you will be on the stage with the audience!  As a result we have had to alter seating to 80 available seats per night in which we will not be able to accommodate complimentary tickets.

Pre-Sale tickets are going for $7 until 11/14.  After that, tickets will cost $10.
