Thank You Teresa and Demi

I am so blessed to be surrounded by great people. From my loving family, circle of supportive friends, and talented and dedicated friends from work, I count my blessings daily and do not take the relationships that I have with kind people for granted. Teresa and Demi are two of the most loving friends I have from work. Thank you both for reminding me how lucky I am.

ASAP - Mile 65 (The 20th Donation)

A Shoe Adoption Project Update - In our 20th donation, we are sending five more pairs of new shoes to Dave & Margaret's Family Services in La Verne. The recipients are three boys (ages 13, 13, and 14) and two 13-year-old girls. Thank you to Dinna for helping with collecting the shoe sizes as she processed her clients' information. A special thank you also goes to two of my close friends, Ben & Karen, for making a generous donation of a pair of beautiful shoes to one of the girls. Since the beginning of this charity, 100% of the donation to this project goes directly to the children in need. As always, thank you to all of the donors, friends, and supporter of this project. -Ricky

ASAP - Mile 64 (Five New Clients)

A Shoe Adoption Project Update - Case Manager Dinna from Dave & Margaret Family Services (La Verne) reached out last week. She expected the arrival of five new children clients to her group home on Friday evening. As soon as she processes their information and collects their shoe sizes, she will let me know of their needs by early next week. I strive to quickly provide each of these kiddos a new pair of athletics shoes. More to follow soon.

Thanks Karen, Gia, & Sophia

I hobbled to my classroom Monday morning and, to my biggest surprise, I saw this beautiful poster outside. It made me want to cry, but due to dehydration, I had no tears. ☺  Thank you, ladies. Still, students and parents who trespass campus on Sunday night and vandalize school proper will face sever consequences.

*They also sent me videos of them there running on treadmills at a local gym, a clip of the TV board cast with me crossing the finish line, and they found my unofficial finish time (which I chose to cover up in this photo).

SCP Year Two

This is my second year running with the SoCal Pacers running club. Above all else, I am blessed with more quality friends. I have also gained a new level of fitness and physical discipline. This is the key stretch for my LA Marathon training. I suffered from an injury a year ago was did not put together a complete training cycle. I feel much better this year, I have no excuses. I put in a lot of long miles in February, and I've done some extra work to stay healthy. While I'm enjoying the process, I'm also excited for the marathon on March 18th.

Firecracker 10K 2018

It's the Year of the Dog. I joined great friends at a hilly 10K course and we shared some delicious dim sum afterwards in Chinatown.
