The Wonder Years

The choir program, led by Mr. Helms, put together an amazing end-of-year show.  Student performers sang songs by artists such as John Denver to The Beatles in our new arts center.  The audience loved each performance.  I purchased a DVD and cannot wait to get it so that I can enjoy the show once again.

Cambridge Ignite Presentation

I presented this Cambridge Ignite presentation to my AP Statistics senior students as the final lesson of the year.  The Ignite format is a 5 minute presentation that uses 20 slides, with each automatically advancing every 15 seconds.  I shared with them my experience abroad with them and encouraged them to consider this opportunity in their upcoming years in college.

This is a badge that I bought from Cambridge.

Algebra 2 Shirt

My cousins helped me add the text onto a Nike shirt during my first year as a teacher. The design is inspired by soccer jerseys. I taught Algebra 2 and Geometry that year. Every school year since, I have taught either one or both of these courses .

Senior Awards Night

It was a wonderful night in recognition of our best students.  I am honored to have a wonderful group of 35 seniors this year in my AP Statistics class.  Many of my seniors attended the ceremony and were recognized with many different awards.  I recognized Natalie Neeley for her high achievement in AP Statistics.  The evening concluded with a heartfelt speech by Mr. Podley, who recognized one more "senior".  Mr. Podley recognized Mr. Ketterling's 18 years of service to our school by naming our basketball court in our new gym as the Ketterling Court.  Congratulations to Mr. Ketterling on his upcoming retirement.  Thank you for all that you have done for this community.

BHS Prom 2015

I attended my very first prom this year at the Diamond Bar Center.  The students had a blast.  They were dressed in classy attires as the theme was The Great Gatsby.  I received a wonderful compliment from the event director at the venue.  She told me that our school sets strict standards and that our students were very well behaved compared to other groups that she has served over her past nine years as an event director.

Rain in May

It has been an unseasonably cool month of May.  While we haven't been getting as much rain as we would like in Southern California, we appreciate what we get.  The rain also brings out a different school environment that we rarely see.  This is a picture of a beautiful tree in our main quad.

Night of Comedy

A few of my students are a part of a comedy club on campus.  They hold occasional improv shows on campus during lunch or after school.  I attended one of their shows and it was very entertaining.  The student comedians were witty and brave as they played improv games in front of a group of audience.  Excellent job.
