Student Play at Redlands Starring Anthony

Over Thanksgiving break, I visited Redlands to see my former student Anthony's play.  He was amazing in this comedy and I am so glad to have made the trip.  This was my first time visiting the downtown and the university in this city.  (From 11/21/2021)

Retro Game Played - Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations

The Phoenix Wright trilogy concludes in this game.  I find it overall enjoyable but the dialogue can drag on a bit too long at times.  I will take a break from this series before going onto its other sequels. (Played in November 2021)

Retro Game Played - New Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. for the NES may be the first video game that I (and millions of people) first played at home.  It brings back fond memories of my time with my family.  There's been numerous version of "Mario Games" since the late 1980's.  This new version is colorful and I appreciated the elements added to the updated gameplay.  This was released in North America and Japan in May 2006.  (Completed in November 2021).

Bonita Girls Basketball Season Opener 2021

I'm very excited to see my students (Lauren, Bryanna, Anna, and Chloe) play this season.  Awww Yeah Bearcats.  (From 11/17/2021)

Retro Game Played - Metroid Zero Mission

This was my first Metroid game.  This series has a long history dating back to the NES days.  This is considered a remake of the original NES Metroid, I really liked the last Zero Suit Mission that is essentially a stealth mode stage.  My clear time for this first play was 5:43:31 with an item collecting rate of 54%.  In a rare care, this game was first released in America in February 2004 before its Japan release in May 2004.  (From November 2021)

Bonita High School Fall Concert 6pm Show 2021

Retro Game Played - Phoenix Wright: Justice for All

I completed the second entry of this courtroom adventure video game series.  The humor and animation brought back memories of the Japanese cartoon shows that I watched as a kid.  This version was released for the GBA in Japan in 2002, and later translated to English and released in North America for the Nintendo DS in 2007.  (Completed in November 2021)

Pawsitivity Award #14

From Mr. Waters 11/19/2021:

Good Morning!

Normally this award is given on Thursdays, but I was out yesterday unavoidably so I am passing this on today.

I really enjoyed Eichen’s comments last week and it made me think about who on campus makes me smile on a consistent basis. The person that immediately came to mind is a natural leader, is seemingly constantly at ease, and one of the most popular teachers on campus. This week’s PAWSitivity award goes to….drum roll…Tim Wes.

I have known Tim for several years and his humor always picks me up no matter what mood I’m in. More importantly, he has a hugely positive impact on campus. Each year you can see him reading names at our Graduation ceremony which is a position that is voted upon by the Senior Class (Tim basically wins the teacher popularity contest). Additionally, since taking on the title of Department Chair, our school wide standardized test scores in Math have improved year over year (I’d also like to recognize the Math Department as a whole for this accomplishment). My Link Crew Leaders speak highly of Mr. Wes consistently has many, if not all of them, have taken one or more math classes from him during their tenure at Bonita High School. All in all, Mr. Wes exudes PAWSitivity and I congratulate him on the pawsitive impact he has had and continues to have on Bonita High School!

Awww yeah Bearcats!

Thank you to our football program (players, coaches, supporting staff), the athletic trainers, statistics team, and cheer leaders for giving us a wonderful season of in-person football.  I am grateful for the Friday and Saturday night lights.  Congratulations and best wishes to all of our seniors.  We are proud of you.  (From 11/13/2021)
