Rose Pink Cords

Mr. C. is the head Link Crew coordinator for many years at GHS, I assisted him whenever I could during those years.  One initiative that I took was to apply for the assignments of an honor cord for graduation to senior Link Leaders who have shown excellence in the program.  I listened to seniors who made the suggestion, and with the approval of the administration, we made it work.  I am particularly proud of selecting this beautiful color for our leaders.

Post-Grad Card

I stopped by campus over the summer and was surprised to find this card in my mailbox.  Derek J. was a wonderful senior in my AP Statistics class.  In additional to being on the swim team, Derek also played the drums.  He was awesome at our Battle of the Bands showcase earlier in the year, during which I was a guest judge.  Additionally, by chance I was again on the judging panel for Derek's senior project.  He incorporated guitar music in his wonderful presentation.  Derek will study administrations in parks and recreations this fall.  Good luck and thank you, Derek.

Senior Letter

Brenden A., a senior varsity baseball player-coach, was a great student in my AP Statistics class.  He wrote me this kind letter at the end of the year.  His senior project focused on professional athletes and their use of performance enhancing drugs.  He is attending college in Washington this fall.  Good luck and thank you, Brenden.

Book Safe

Cleaning out the classroom over the summer, I come across objects that bring back memories of my student interactions.  This book safe was a gift from Jade C. a few years ago.  Jade was a tall and athletic student who played volleyball and was on our school's dance team.  She was also very proud of her bicultural background.  Her dad is of Chinese-Mexican descent.  Jade give me this book safe for Christmas.  Thank you, Jade.

Handmade Card from the Salutatorian

Emily P. is one of the brightest students whom I have ever had the pleasure of teaching.  At Senior Awards Night, she was surprised with the honor of being the Salutatorian of her graduating class.  Emily will be studying Computer Sciences at UCSD this fall.  I found out over the summer that she scored a "5" on the AP Statistics exam; I was not a bit surprised.  She is quiet, thoughtful and very intelligent.  At graduation, her speech was mature and she made a strong connection with the audience.  Emily gave me this handmade card during the last week of school.  I am humbled and honored to have met Emily.  Good luck and thank you, Emily.
