ASAP - Mile 75 (Adopt A Family)

A Shoe Adoption Project Update - I am supporting my good friends Carolyn and Ty who are adopting a family once again this Christmas. They are partnering with the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Loma Linda to help the Martin Family. To contribute to CC and Ty's efforts, I am offering new athletics shoes to the seven children of this family in need. If you are interested in making a contribution, please send me a message and I can get you in touch with Carolyn.  (See below for her call for action.) More to follow soon. -Ricky

Hello Friends,

Tyrone and I have reached out once again, to the Ronald Mc Donald house in Loma Linda to provide us with a family in need that we could adopt for Christmas.  We have the honor of helping out the Martin family.  The Martin family consists of Mom, Antoinette, and her 7 children, Rajanae (f)  , Rodney  (m) , Robbin  (f) , Raine  (f), Ryan  (male), Rasheed  (m) and Remi  (f).

In April of 2018 Rasheed had a heart transplant and in Oct was released from the hospital  and the family left the Ronald McDonald house.. During the time he was in the hospital it put the family in a more difficult financial situation.  Unfortunately, they lost their affordable housing and pretty much everything else.  They have been temporarily staying with family and as of Nov. 27 they have acquired another affordable housing location. They are moving into their new location with limited household items.
When I contacted Mom to tell her about all of us she mentioned the night before she was praying on how they would make it through the holidays and then the Lord answered her with my phone call.
This family is so sweet and gracious they all call me Miss Carolyn.  If you are able to help with either a  gift, gift cards or cash ( I will do the shopping)  it would be so greatly appreciated.  I have already purchased a few  specific gifts for the family however there are still in need of so many basic household needs.
Here are some of the items they need but not limited to:
Bath towels – (any color)
Sheets – full and twin (any color)
Pillows
Blankets
Crockpot
Casserole dishes
Storage containers/bowls
Kitchen towels (any color)
Toaster
Kitchen utensils
Drinking cups
Soup Bowls
Hand mixer

Mom needs Pajamas XL and socks size 6.5-7
Gift cards – Walmart, ross, Burlington coat factory, stater bros, Arco and Shell stations
Gift cards – McDonalds, Jack in the box, olive garden, 5 guys, in and out burger, yard house, sonic burger
Gift Cards for the kids – Tillys, Zumiez, urban outfitters, claires, forever 21, game stop, best buy
Family board games for ages 10 and up
Writing journal – one of the girls likes to write
Thank you all so much for your generosity.  Both Tyrone and I feel blessed to have you all in our lives.
You can send your gifts to me at [Ricky removed her address] or I can arrange to pick them up from you.

For those of you that helped out last year with Jeremy and Haylee I keep in contact with both families and the kids are both doing great.  Jeremy is finishing up his last treatment and Haylee has finished her chemo.  She is walking again and on the road to remission.

Thank you again,
Merry Christmas!
Tyrone and Carolyn
