Bonita Boys Basketball Senior Night 2024

Congrats to my senior students: Sean, Chris, JQ, Naasir, and Josh.  The best part of the night was reconnecting with one of my favorite former students Amir from c/o 2016.  I have the pleasure of having his younger brother Naasir this year - both wonderful young men coming from a delightful family.

ASAP - Mile 119 (House of Ruth)

A Shoe Adoption Project Update:  We donated nine pairs of new shoes to the House of Ruth - a non-profit organization serving women and children affected by abuse and homelessness.  A special shout out to the members of the Bonita Gender Equality Club for leading charge.  Thank you to all the donors, supporters, and friends of this project. A conservative effort on Friday 1/29/2024.  It took me about 40 minutes to get to the top, that included some walking and waiting.  The downhill section was an adventure because it gradually approach pitch black darkness in the last stretch.

Pawsitivity Award #66

¡Hola Bearcats!

I want to start by saying thank you so very much to Mark C. for this week’s Pawsitivity Award!  Your words were so kind and thoughtful!  I feel so blessed to work with such an amazing staff that always seems to go above and beyond from their everyday work load and expectations to make Bonita the amazing school that it is!  On this note, I would like to pass the Pawsitivity Award to Julie J.! Every time I run into Julie in the halls, she always has a smile on her face and has a friendly greeting like, “hey Plunky”! I know that doesn’t seem like much, but it always makes my day to stop and have a small chat with her. Julie is kind to everyone on campus and her students love her positive attitude and welcoming environment in her class. Thanks for being a positive and encouraging role model, colleague, and friend throughout so many years!

Pawsitivity Award #65

Happy New Year Everyone!!

 

Well, I was very honored to have received this award from Ruth and I felt it was such a great way to end the year and receive the award right before the winter break J

 

We work with a great group of people with an abundance of positive attitudes here at Bonita but Veronica P. is the person that quickly comes to mind when I think of a possible candidate for the Bonita High School “Pawsitivity” Award.

 

Every day at work, Veronica exemplifies an unwavering commitment to positivity that truly sets the tone for our entire staff at Bonita. She provides the staff and students with an infectious enthusiasm, genuine smile, and an uplifting spirit while creating an uplifting atmosphere in her classroom. Whether faced with challenges or celebrating successes, she approaches each day/situation with a can-do attitude, inspiring both students and fellow educators alike. Veronica’s dedication to fostering a positive and supportive environment makes her an invaluable asset to our school community, and I am grateful to have such an uplifting colleague at our school every day.
