Brian and staff, 

Thank you very much for passing along the pawsitivity award to me. I sincerely appreciate all the nice words and our friendship over the years. Working with you in athletics has been a bonus and you are doing great job with our athletes and the Tennis program. 

I would like to pass the award over to Vanessa Tilford. She is always a pleasure to work with and willing to help students whenever she can. Vanessa is also doing so many great things for our students, staff and community. She has taken on the tutoring program and made some significant changes over the year and continues to seek to improvement. Vanessa is bringing the College, Career and Community Resources fair to our campus tonight. Good luck to you and I hope it is a successful event and thank you for all that you do for Bonita, we are so grateful to have you.

Hey Rob Z,

 

Thank you for the kind words, and it is always fun to bounce ideas around with you.

 

I’m going to pass “The Wooden Paw” over to Michelle Okayama,

Both of us were part of the Bonita High 2004  Draft Pick.  We have been here for a while. 

Michelle has been very helpful and supportive since I started coaching last year.  Michelle has spent countless hours on campus making sure all the student athletes get the best experience possible.  She has also put crazy time and effort into the Athletic Training Program.  She even had a former student come back and take over as the Athletic Trainer…Miss Seibert who was a student in the program when Michelle started here at Bonita. (I also had Seibert in zero period Jewelry).

It has been fun working with Michelle all these years as we try to solve the world’s problems, chat about our spouses and our kids. 

And I LOVE watching how Fired Up she gets about Sports.

 

Our Students, Coaches, Faculty and Staff are very fortunate to have her as part of Our Bonita Family .

Retro Game Played - Hammerin' Harry

I played the PSP version of Hammerin' Hero and enjoyed its anime graphics and simple gameplay.  The original Game Boy version is also a simple playthrough.  Originally released in 1992.  (Completed in February 2023)

Thank you for the award and generous words. I'm really happy here at Bonita and look forward to coming in every day to work on cars with the kids.

I'm going to frisbee the Pawsitivity Award over to my neighbor back here in the corner (Brian Harrison). From the beginning, Brian has always been there to bounce ideas off of. He has an amazing art program here at Bonita that produces a lot of creative work from talented students. We have shared many students over the few years I have taught at BHS and only hear positive comments from them all. If you have a chance go back to visit his classroom and check out the work that is being created and the amazing murals on the walls. We both like cars and Brian has owned some cool ones over the years. Ask him sometime about his BMW. I really appreciate you mentoring me through my teaching credential and look forward to seeing the work that continues to come out of your classes.

Retro Game Played - Hammerin' Hero

Hammerin' Hero on the PSP is the first game I completed on the Retroid Pocket 3+ and it's the first PSP game I've played in its entirety.  With the help of save states, I played through this side-scrolling platformer with anime-like graphics.  (Completed in January 2023.)

Retro Gaming - PlayStation Vita 2000 (Glacier White)

After modding a PlayStation Vita 1000 over Christmas break, I was very interested in getting a 2000 version.  Through eBay, I found a great deal for an open box Glacier White model in mint/new condition.  It was shipped from Japan and I've also successfully modded this portable console.  I followed up with matching color PlayStation DualShock controllers for each Vita as well.  The 2000 model has an LED screen instead of an OLED screen.  The upside is that it is lighter and have a longer battery life along with a more practical mini-USB input/output.  (From January 2023)

Deanna, thank you SO MUCH for the Pawsitivity Award and for your kind words-- I am so lucky to have you as my mentor! I feel so incredibly grateful to be apart of the Bearcat fam at Bonita and I couldn't imagine a better place to work. 

I'm passing the Pawsitivity Award on to someone who made me feel welcome at Bonita right off the bat. Whether its in passing on his way to grab his caffeine fix from the teachers lounge, or out and about with his students, Rob Zamboni always has a smile on his face. He is such an integral part of our campus community and works every day to make sure his students are as prepared as possible to enter this industry after high school! Rob makes such an impact on every single one of his students, introducing them to a field that is so ever-expanding and important in todays day and age. It's so fun to hear about the projects my students are working on in his class! From planning a car show for the entire community, to partnering with local colleges to increase access to career opportunities, he really gives his all, 100% of the time. Rob, thank you preparing your students for a career in the automotive industry​, and giving them real-world experience on a daily basis.  I am so appreciative of all you do for your students and the Bonita community!

Bonita Choir Spring Concert 2023

Spring Concert Invitation:

Bonita High School Choral Music will present our annual Spring Concert in the Bonita Center for the Arts on Wednesday, March 15th at 7:00pm. This year’s concert will include an inspirational range of uplifting classical music styles performed by all 200 voices of Bonita's award-winning Choral Department. Gift from Best Buddies 2023

This is one of the coolest gifts I've ever received in my 18+ years as a teacher.  Our best buddies (special education classroom) made me this amazing poster.  It's a collage of coloring that forms a beautiful dragon in recognition of Lunar New Year.  (From 2/24/2023)

Retro Game Played - Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Mario vs. Donkey Kong for the Game Boy Advance is a puzzle platformer that is a quasi-sequel to the Donkey Kong 94 for the original Game Boy. Originally released May 2004.  (Completed in February 2023.)

Retro Game Played - Solar Striker

A simple old-school vertical shooter game on the original GameBoy.  It was released in February 1990, making it over 20 years old.  I played this on the Retroid Pocket 3+ with the much needed assistance of save states.  (Completed in February 2023.)
