Back to Running Surf City 10 Miler
This was my goal race for the season. I haven't been running as well as I once did before 2020, but I made an effort to be more consistent over the past 6-8 months. Everything played out as well as I had hope on this cool Sunday. I parked with about an hour before start time. I paced with the 7:30 min/mile group. While the first 5 miles felt fairly good. I began to struggle during miles 6-7 at that pace. I'm grateful to have been able to stay physically and mentally strong to hang onto the pacer until the end. The only regret was that I wasn't strong enough to speed up at the end. I'll take a week easy and enjoy some ice-cream, and plan to refocus the following week. From 9/15/2024

Back to Road Racing
It's my fastest pace since the lockdown of 2020. It's still a level behind where I was when I was younger, but I'm very proud of my effort on Sunday. I hung in there with the 7:30/mile group, and grinding through the final 5K to finish faster than my goal pace. The Beach Mile on Saturday switched up the pace and terrain a bit. By running the Beach Mile and the 10-miler, I collected a total of three medals this weekend. From 9/14/2024 and 9/15/2024
