From our Drama Director Mr. Frederick:
Anatomy of Gray is a captivating play set in the 1880s in the small town of Gray, Indiana. The narrative is driven by young June Muldoon who, following the death of her father, longs for a healer to prevent further suffering in her town. Her prayer seems answered when a doctor, Galen P. Gray, arrives in a rather dramatic fashion—carried by a tornado in a balloon. The doctor, despite having a peculiar aversion to blood, begins treating the townspeople, sparking a series of events that blend humor, drama, and a touch of romance. The play creatively breaks the fourth wall, allowing characters to narrate events directly to the audience, weaving a tale that’s described as a children’s story for adults.
