Charli's Sourdough Bread

I get paid big dough as a teacher.  =)

Back to Trail Half-Marathon Racing

My watch knows I'm old and need 92+ hours to recover. I went out at a comfortable pace on this cool morning. After the first 4-5 miles, I was still feeling pretty fresh as the climb began. I was conservative with the uphill, I probably walked more that I needed to. By conserving some energy, I was able to run the downhill and the last 5K with a much better pace compared to previous years. In all, I was over 15 minutes faster than my race last year.

I was thrilled when Joelle (℅ 2025) picked me to accompany her Corvette ride during the HOCO halftime show.  Joelle is a member of yearbook and our D-Street dance team. Shout-out to former princesses Bryn (℅ 2016), Leila who was crowned Queen (℅ 2018), Chloe (℅ 2019), Kaylee (℅ 2022), Teoni (℅ 2023), and Adjoa (℅ 2024) who gave me the honor to ride with them! Each year, I reflect that I just never know when it’d be my last time having such an opportunity, so I definitely cherish these fun moments with our wonderful students and their families.

Shane's Sushi

Shane's been raving about these $5 Friday sushi deals from a local supermarket.  On Wednesday, I bought him some California rolls from a different Japanese supermarket.  On Friday, Shane hooked me up with some $5 spicy salmon rolls - they lived up to all the hype!  Arigatō Shane. From 10/11/2024
